What should you pay attention to when planning a camera system for a project?
❗When designing cable networks, keep in mind that the cable can be in the wall for 50 years. Choose a cable that meets today's requirements and ensures high speeds in the future.
❗The cable connection should be pre-prepared at the corners of the house or roof, where cameras are usually placed.
❗Due to noise, the data storage for camera recordings, NVR, should be located in the technical room.
❗When planning a project, it is necessary to determine in advance which devices will be powered via PoE and which will need a separate outlet.
NVR Technology room and network typology
It is important that the network topology is designed to take into account future technological requirements and ensure stable and fast connections in all parts of the house.
Typically, the main Internet connection is received from the telecommunications operator, which is terminated in a technical room, for example in the garage. From there, the cables are distributed to the individual rooms of the house in the form of a star connection structure. In the technical room, a rack with a switch is located, which redistributes the Internet signal to the individual rooms.
The goal of room separation is to minimize noise generated by devices such as NVRs, switches, and routers that require active cooling.
